Tandem IVF (Dual Stimulation IVF) is a promising and innovative IVF treatment protocol developed specifically for women with diminished ovarian reserve or advanced age. At Gynolife IVF Center the Tandem IVF process works as follows: The patient ovaries are stimulated with a personalized protocol while a selected egg donor ovaries are stimulated in parallel. On the day of egg retrieval (OPU) from the patient eggs are also collected from the donor. Both the patient own eggs and donor eggs are then fertilized with sperm from the partner (or donor). The developing embryos are carefully monitored. If quality and healthy embryos develop from the patient own eggs priority is given to transferring those embryos. If insufficient embryos are obtained from own eggs the healthy embryos from donor eggs are ready for transfer.
